neo Plugins Free vs. Pro
What is the difference between Free and Pro?With the Free version you get all neo plugins with their basic functions. On the download page you can download the plugins individually or install directly with the neoPlugins ZIP. After installation the neo plugins appear as separate entries in the WordPress backend and must be managed and updated separately. Support is provided via the public WordPress forum.
With the Pro version you get all neo plugins including all Pro features in a single ZIP file. You upload only that one file and then find all features as one plugin entry in your dashboard. Through the plugin overview in settings you toggle exactly the modules you need. All Pro features with the crown icon 👑 are available to you immediately. These include, for example, showing all posts that use a particular image, bulk actions in neoRenamer, an advanced animation editor for drawings and much more. Thanks to automatic security and feature updates you always stay up to date. Newly released media plugins and tools will be included in the future at no extra cost. With the Pro version you also enjoy prioritized premium support directly from the development team.
So if you want to save time, stay flexible and use all professional features immediately, the Pro version is right for you.
Security & privacy?
How secure is the plugin? All neo plugins are regularly updated, hosted on German servers and fully comply with European data protection regulations (GDPR). In addition all updates are intensively tested by experienced WordPress professionals before release.
Demo and trial version
Is there a demo version?Yes! You can test all neo plugins directly in the online sandbox without installation. You also have the option to test all neoPro features on your own WordPress site free for 14 days. You can activate this trial period in the WordPress backend under the neoWP settings. This lets you find out calmly whether neo WP is right for you.
Change neon colors
Why are the colors so bright? We are often asked: Why pink and green? What is going on with the colors? Why do I still see the plugin when I close my eyes? We wanted to stand out. If you want to give your optic nerve a break: In the Pro version you automatically get a calmer color scheme in dark blue and gold. Many users have fallen in love with the neon colors. Therefore there is a color scheme switch in the Pro settings.
Feature request?
Can I submit feature requests?Yes! The neo WP team welcomes feedback, ideas and suggestions. Everything that lands in our suggestion box will be discussed by the team. We respond to every piece of feedback.
Multilingual?
Is the plugin multilingual?Yes, all neo plugins support multiple languages, including English and German. If a language is not yet available, the English version will be displayed automatically.
After purchase
What happens after purchase? After purchase you will receive two emails with your invoice, the download link and your personal license key. If the emails do not appear in your inbox, check the spam folder. Alternatively, you can find all information in your account. You can then easily install the plugin in your WordPress dashboard as a ZIP file via "Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin" and enter the license key. You can then delete the free neo plugins, they are no longer needed. Existing settings and content are of course preserved when switching from Free to Pro.
Multiple websites
Which license do I need for multiple websites? There are licenses for 1, 5 or 25 websites. Each production website uses one slot within the license - including within a WordPress multisite installation. Development, test, staging or local environments are free and do not require their own license, provided they are assigned to a licensed production site. Discounted license packages for 5 or 25 websites can be selected directly via the pricing table or at checkout. If you need more than 25 licenses, contact us by email.
Move license
Can I move a license to another domain?Yes! A domain change is possible without any problems. You can deactivate the license on the old domain and then reactivate it on the new domain. The assignment of licenses to domains can alternatively be viewed and adjusted at any time in the account. The access data were sent to you by email from neo-wp.com when you purchased the license. If you have any questions or problems, we will be happy to help.
Change plan
Can I change my plan?Yes, of course! You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. To do this, log in to your account with the credentials you received from neo-wp.com by email when you purchased the license. When upgrading you only pay a prorated amount - previous payments are credited as a discount. When downgrading the subscription period will be extended accordingly.
Enter license key
Where do I enter my license key?You have several options to activate your Pro plugin:
If you already have any neo plugin installed in the free version you can enter your license key on the neo WP settings page in the WordPress backend. The Pro version will then be installed automatically and your license activated.
To make installation on multiple WordPress instances easier you can also download the ZIP file of your Pro plugin directly here. Before downloading you enter your license key so it is integrated directly into the plugin.
When installing this ZIP file no further entry of the license key is required as it will be read and activated automatically from the ZIP file.
In your user account you can manage the assignment of licenses and domains. When you purchased the license the credentials were sent to you by email from neo-wp.com.
Use a plugin individually
Can I use a Pro plugin individually?Yes! With neo Pro you get access to all neo plugins in a single ZIP file - at the price of a classic WP plugin. In the backend you decide which modules and features you want to enable and use. This way you pay a fair price only once and assemble your system flexibly and efficiently.
Updates included
Are updates and new features included?Yes! With an active license you automatically receive all updates such as security and bugfix updates as well as new features and improvements. Even before a new WordPress version becomes widespread we ensure compatibility.
You also get access to all Pro features of new media plugins that will be released in the future. This keeps neo Pro always up to date powerful and state of the art for you. These updates are included in all premium plans as long as your license is active. In particular a lifetime license grants you updates forever.
Development domains free of charge?
Are dev, staging and localhost environments free of charge?Yes. One license covers both your live and development staging test and localhost environments such as e.g. dev.example.com. Addresses with endings or subdomains like dev test local staging or example do not count toward the license quota. Common hosting domains like *.cloudwaysapps.com *.wpengine.com or *.instawp.co are also detected automatically. A complete list of all detected development domains can be found in the overview.
Client projects
Can I use neo Pro for my clients?Yes absolutely! neo Pro was specifically designed to support your web design business in growing and servicing clients. You can start with the Pro plan of neo Pro which includes professional features and can be used on up to 1 5 or 25 websites. We also offer an enterprise plan for larger companies.

Does neo WP offer refunds?Yes! After purchasing a plan you are fully protected by our 14-day money-back guarantee. We stand behind the quality of our product. If you don’t like our plugin, we will refund the purchase amount 100% - no questions asked. Start the refund directly in the plugin admin settings via the menu neo WP > Contact > Get refund.
Subscription cancellable at any time
Can I cancel a plan at any time?Yes! If you ever decide that neo WP is not the right plugin for your project, you can cancel your subscription and automatic renewal easily in your account. All plans are cancelable monthly, unless you have an annual or lifetime plan. After cancellation you can continue to use the free plugins, but you will no longer receive pro updates or email support.
Download Pro version
Where can I download the Pro version?Downloading the Pro plugins requires a valid license. If you have already purchased a license key, you can download the Pro version ZIP file here. During the download your license key will be automatically embedded in the plugin file. This means the key is already included at installation and no additional activation is necessary.
In your user account you can manage the assignment of licenses and domains. When you purchased the license the credentials were sent to you by email from neo-wp.com.
Install all plugins
Can I install all plugins at once?Yes, that is possible! Just download the neoPlugins ZIP and install all plugins conveniently with a single click each via the neo WP settings page in the WordPress backend. Each plugin will then be displayed individually in the WordPress plugin list and can be managed and updated separately there. The plugins function technically independently and are functionally perfectly aligned with each other.
With the Pro version you get all neo plugins as a bundled ZIP file. After uploading and installing, all plugins including pro features are available to you in a single pro plugin. That way you only have to install, manage and update one plugin. In the pro plugin settings you can selectively enable only the features you actually need.
Neo universe
What is the neoUniverse? The neoUniverse is more than just a collection of plugins. It is your complete toolbox for all media challenges in WordPress. It currently includes ten specialized plugins: neo Library, neo Rename, neo Replace, neo Duplicate, neo Optimize, neo Lazy, neo Draw, neo Animate and neo Motion. They work seamlessly together, are perfectly coordinated and cover all areas of media management, SEO and performance. Whether renaming images, replacing files, optimizing SEO, enabling lazy-load or drawing and animating content. neoUniverse makes your media workflow noticeably easier and more efficient. And the best part: neoUniverse keeps growing. New tools and features make your WordPress everyday even better.
Download with Safari
Why is only one folder shown when downloading? If you use Safari, your Mac may automatically unzip the ZIP file. Instead of the ZIP file you then only get the unzipped folder. You cannot upload this folder directly to WordPress.
Solution: Open the Safari settings and disable the option "Open safe files after downloading". Then the ZIP file will stay exactly as you need it.
The video titled "How to disable Safari auto extract for ZIP files when downloading WordPress plugins" on YouTube shows you the exact details.
Concise and to the point
What is neo Rename? The plugin neo Rename is a WordPress plugin that lets you efficiently rename images, videos and other media files in your media library. It automatically updates all references in the database to refresh existing links and improve your SEO ranking.
Concise and to the point
What is neo Replace? The plugin neo Replace is a WordPress plugin for replacing images, videos, PDFs and other media files directly in the media library. You simply drag and drop the new file onto the existing file and neo Replace swaps it out.
Existing image references are updated automatically, thumbnails are regenerated and important metadata like alt text, description and caption are preserved. This lets you replace media in WordPress without having to swap each image manually on pages, posts or in page builders.
SEO benefits?
What advantages does neo Rename offer for SEO?The plugin neo Rename optimizes image titles, filenames and slugs, creates SEO-friendly redirects (301 redirects) and can automatically generate missing alt texts from image titles. This sustainably improves your website's visibility in search engines.
Bulk renaming?
Can you rename multiple files at once?Yes, with the built-in bulk or batch processing you can rename multiple files at once with neo Rename. A preview feature shows you all planned changes in advance.
Supported formats?
What file formats can you rename? All common media formats are supported by neo Rename for images, videos and documents, including: JPG, PNG, WEBP, SVG, PDF, MP4, MOV, MP3, ZIP and many more.
Redirects & references?
What happens to my existing image URLs after renaming? When renaming, neo Rename automatically updates all references in your WordPress database, including post content, ACF fields and even in PHP arrays. Additionally, a 301 redirect ensures that the old image links already indexed by Google remain accessible. This keeps your SEO performance stable and prevents ranking losses due to broken links.
Before renaming
What should you consider before renaming?Renaming files in WordPress can affect existing image references and links. Before renaming media we recommend:
✅ Make a backup: Create a backup of your site before renaming many files at once.
✅ Start individually: First test renaming with neo Rename on individual files.
🛠️ Clear plugin cache: If issues occur after renaming, it can help to clear the plugin cache, since old image references may still be stored there.
🛠️ Clear browser cache: If wrong or old images still appear, you can clear the browser cache to update outdated references.
🔙 Use undo: With one click you can undo changes in neo Rename if something goes wrong.
🧠 SEO tip: By redirecting old URLs with neo Rename you avoid negative effects on your Google ranking!
Undo?
Can you undo renames?Yes, the neo Rename plugin has an undo feature, which can restore the previous filenames, titles, and slugs after renaming.
WooCommerce?
Is neo Rename compatible with WooCommerce?Yes, neo Rename works smoothly with WooCommerce and detects all image and media references in product pages, galleries and descriptions.
Image galleries supported
Will created image galleries be preserved?Yes, when renaming or replacing images, the image references in all common WordPress image galleries are also updated. Supported examples include: NextGEN Gallery, Envira Gallery, FooGallery, Modula Image Gallery, Photo Gallery by 10Web, Meow Gallery, Responsive Lightbox & Gallery, Visual Portfolio, Justified Image Grid, The Grid and many more.
How it works
How do I replace an image in WordPress with neo Replace? With neo Replace you replace an image right where you expect it: in the WordPress media library. An action link appears on the existing media that opens the replace popup. After that you can either choose the new file the classic way or simply drag and drop it in.
After uploading, neo Replace replaces the file, creates matching new thumbnails and updates existing references in your WordPress database. That way the new image automatically appears wherever the old image was used before.
Update references
Are old image references automatically updated?Yes. That is exactly what neo Replace was built for. When replacing a media file, existing references in the WordPress database are updated so the new image appears wherever the old image was embedded.
This is especially important if the filename, the file extension or the image format changes during replacement. neo Replace takes into account, among other things, content from posts and pages, post meta fields, WordPress options, ACF fields and data structures stored by page builders.
This reduces broken image links, broken media references and unnecessary manual rework.
Supported formats
Which file formats can I replace with neo Replace? With neo Replace you can replace images, videos, audio files, PDFs and many other media formats. All common file types that can be uploaded to WordPress are supported.
These include among others JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, SVG, GIF, TIF, BMP, MP4, MOV, WEBM, AVI, MP3, WAV, PDF, TXT and ZIP. For example you can replace a JPG image with a PNG, WEBP or AVIF without having to reinsert the file on every page afterwards.
Metadata stays preserved
Are alt text, description and caption preserved when replacing?Yes. When replacing a file, neo Replace retains important media information such as alt text, description and caption. This is especially useful if you only want to replace an image technically or stylistically while keeping the existing SEO texts.
Optionally, when replacing you can specify whether the filename, title and slug from the newly uploaded image should also be adopted. This lets you decide flexibly whether only the image file is updated or whether the media name should also be adjusted to the new file.
Regenerate thumbnails
What happens to WordPress thumbnails when replacing? When replacing an image, neo Replace automatically creates new WordPress thumbnails. That regenerates the appropriate image sizes for themes, WooCommerce, galleries and page builders.
If the new image has a different resolution than the old one, the number or size of generated thumbnails may change. neo Replace assigns the new preview images to the existing image sizes as sensibly as possible so your site can continue to serve appropriate image versions.
Page Builder
Does neo Replace work with Elementor, Bricks, Divi and Gutenberg?Yes. neo Replace is designed for common WordPress setups and page builders. These include among others Elementor, Bricks, Divi, Gutenberg, the Classic Editor and many other builders.
The plugin searches for image references not only in regular post content but also in data structures often used by page builders. These include plain text URLs, JSON data and serialized PHP arrays. That allows neo Replace to update images even where manual replacement quickly becomes confusing.
WooCommerce
Can I replace product images in WooCommerce?Yes, neo Replace is compatible with WooCommerce and is well suited for replacing product images, gallery images and other shop media.
When you replace a product image in the WordPress media library, existing links remain intact and the new image can automatically appear wherever the old product image was previously used. This saves a lot of time, especially in larger shops, because images do not need to be replaced individually in each product.
SEO benefits
What benefits does neo Replace offer for SEO?neo Replace helps you keep your WordPress media SEO-friendly and up to date. When you replace images, videos, or PDFs, existing media references are updated and important image information like alt text, description, and caption is preserved.
This is especially helpful when you replace outdated images with optimized versions, want to use new WebP or AVIF files, or update product images, portfolio images, and landing page graphics. This way you avoid broken image references, save manual work, and ensure your content remains correctly embedded for users and search engines.
Preview image usage
Can I see where an image is used before replacing it?Yes, with the Pro version. neo Replace can show you before replacing where an image is used in posts, pages, or database fields. That way you can see in advance where the new image will later appear on your website.
This preview is particularly helpful for important media like hero images, product images, logos, PDFs, portfolio images, or images on landing pages. You gain more control over the replace process and can better assess which areas of your site are affected.
Concise and to the point
What is neo Duplicate? The plugin neo Duplicate is a WordPress plugin for duplicating images, videos, PDFs and other media files directly in the media library. With one click you create your own copy of the file, including existing image sizes and media information.
This is especially helpful if you want to use the same image in multiple places but need different alt texts, titles, captions or descriptions per page. This keeps your media library flexible and lets you prepare media cleanly for SEO, layouts and editorial variants.
Why duplicate an image?
Why should you duplicate an image in WordPress?Duplicating an image makes sense when the same file will be used in different posts, pages, or products with its own alt texts, captions, titles, or descriptions. Especially for SEO, it can be better to describe an image differently depending on the context rather than using the same media entry everywhere.
A copy also helps when editing images in WordPress: you can crop, rotate, or test an image differently for a specific post without changing the original media entry used elsewhere. Duplicating is also useful as a quick backup before making changes or for reusing media in variants.
Carry over metadata
Are all metadata carried over when duplicating?Yes. neo Duplicate creates a copy of the media file and carries over important media information such as title, alt text, caption, and description. The existing image sizes are also duplicated so the copy can be used directly as a standalone media entry.
After duplicating you can adjust the copy’s metadata independently from the original. This lets you use the same asset multiple times without changes to the alt text or caption automatically affecting other usages.
Keep upload date
Can I keep the upload date when duplicating?Yes. When duplicating the original upload date can be preserved so the copied file stays with the original chronologically and is easier to find in the media library. This is especially handy if you sort your media by date or want to keep older projects organized together.
Alternatively a copy can be treated as a new media entry if you intentionally want it to appear as the current variant. That way you decide according to your workflow whether the copy stays grouped with the original or is sorted higher in the media library.

What is neo Optimize? The plugin neo Optimize is a WordPress plugin for image optimization. It automatically reduces images to the actually required display size and converts image files to the efficient WebP format. This makes images load faster and your website more performant, which positively affects the SEO ranking.
What makes neo Optimize special is that the original images remain unchanged and the optimized versions are stored in a separate cache directory. In addition the plugin works without credit packages because it optimizes images directly for free on your own server.
Local optimization
Are my images sent to external servers? The neo Optimize plugin processes your images directly on your own server. Local server functions such as Imagick or PHP GD are used for image optimization. That means you do not need credit packages for external image services or additional cloud processing.
This makes optimization free, privacy-friendly and independent of external providers.
Original images remain intact
Does neo Optimize modify my original images?Your original images and database remain fully intact. The neo Optimize plugin only creates optimized copies in the cache and serves those in the frontend. The original files in your media library are not overwritten.
Your WordPress database also remains untouched. When the site loads, only the image URL in the frontend is replaced with the optimized cache version.
If you disable or uninstall neo Optimize, everything returns to how it was before.
WebP and image quality
What image quality should I set?For most websites we recommend a WebP quality of 75%. The WebP format is very efficient, so even lower quality values often still look very good while producing significantly smaller files.
In the settings of neo Optimize you can conveniently select the quality and directly judge it via a preview with file size. This helps you quickly find the right balance between high image quality and fast loading times.
Retina factor
What does the retina factor do?The retina factor controls the pixel density at which images are displayed on high-resolution screens. A higher value makes images appear sharper on Retina displays but also increases file size.
By default, the neo Optimize plugin uses a retina factor of 1.5x to enhance rendering of small text, icons and image details on Retina displays. In the Pro version you can set the retina factor individually and compare it directly in the preview.
Clear cache
When should I clear the neo Optimize cache?Under normal operation it is not necessary to clear the neo Optimize cache. The clear cache button can be helpful if you want to remove old image variants after many tests or tidy up after major changes to image sizes in the page builder. Optimized images are then automatically regenerated as soon as they are needed again in the frontend.
If you change image quality, the retina factor or other optimization settings, neo Optimize will automatically create new optimized images. When an image is deleted from the WordPress media library, the associated cache files are automatically removed. Even optimized images that were renamed with neo Rename are automatically cleaned up.
The Clear Cache button is therefore intended primarily as a reset and cleanup function.
Page Builder
Does neo Optimize work with my page builder?Yes, neo Optimize works with all common page builders. These include, among others, Bricks, Elementor, Divi, Beaver, Oxygen, Breakdance and Gutenberg.
neo Optimize can automatically read the configured image sizes and use them as the basis for optimization. This adjusts the image as closely as possible to the actual display size and caches it for fast delivery.
Override image sizes
Can I set image size and quality manually per image?Yes. You can override the automatically determined optimization per image using HTML attributes. This is especially useful when an image is displayed differently in a page builder than can be detected automatically. Examples:
<img data-neo-optimize--width="320px" src="...">
<img data-neo-optimize--height="180px" src="...">
<img data-neo-optimize--quality="75" src="...">
With the Pro version you can additionally control the retina factor and the algorithm used per image:
<img data-neo-optimize--retina="150" src="...">
<img data-neo-optimize--algorithm="imagick" src="...">
Supported formats
Which image formats does neo Optimize support? The image optimization of neo Optimize supports many common raster formats, including JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, AVIF, BMP, HEIC, HEIF, TIFF and many other formats, provided they can be processed on your server by Imagick or PHP GD.
Raster images are optimized, scaled and stored as WebP files in the cache. In addition, neo Optimize can also optimize special neo Draw SVG graphics for frontend output.
Optimize neo Draw SVGs
How does neo Optimize optimize drawings from neo Draw? When a graphic was created with neo Draw, neo Optimize can automatically optimize it when serving on the frontend. Unnecessary editor data is removed for display and embedded raster images are converted to the efficient WebP format.
The original neoDraw file remains fully intact and editable. Visitors get a slimmer, faster version on the frontend while you can continue working with the editable original drawing in the backend.
neo Draw - transfer drawings
How can I transfer drawings created with neo Draw to another website?Drawings created with neo Draw can be downloaded like normal images as SVG or PNG files and uploaded to another WordPress instance. For SVG upload to work it must either be enabled manually or the neo Library must be used for upload. The drawings can be still edited with neo Draw after upload, because the drawing data is embedded in both the SVG and the PNG formats.
neo Draw - export drawing
Can I export neoDraw drawings as PNG files?Yes, drawings created with neo Draw can be downloaded as PNG files via the neo Library. All drawing data is embedded as metadata directly into the PNG file. Despite the pixel-based format this allows full restoration of the original SVG including all editable drawing elements. If such a PNG file is later uploaded again with the neo Library it will automatically be converted back into an SVG file editable with neo Draw.
neo Draw - file format
In what format are neoDraw drawings saved?Drawings created with neo Draw are stored in the WordPress media library as vector graphics in SVG format just like normal images. On the file system these SVG files sit alongside the other images from the WordPress media library. Therefore all drawings created with neo Draw can still be used after uninstalling the plugin.
All editor drawing data, including embedded images and animations from neo Animate & neo Motion, is stored directly in the SVG file. This keeps the drawing fully editable after download and reupload for example to another WordPress instance. In the frontend SVG files are treated like ordinary images.
For maximum performance the neo Optimize plugin removes editor data when serving the SVG files and converts embedded raster graphics to the efficient WebP format.
neo Draw - drawings without Pro
What happens to my drawings and animations without Pro?If you stop using a Pro license, your existing drawings and animations remain fully intact and continue to work on the frontend.
Pro features within the drawings (for example advanced animation settings) can no longer be edited without a license. Viewing and exporting remain possible because your drawings are stored as regular SVG files.
If you switch back to neo Pro later, all Pro features become available again immediately without restrictions.
neo Draw - and the neoUniverse
How does neo Draw work with the other plugins? The neo Draw plugin reaches its full potential when used together with the other plugins in the neoUniverse, especially for practical use cases. For example: you run a web design agency and want to integrate a visual route map on a client’s website. With neo Draw you create a sketch that shows the route to the location directly on a map excerpt. Then you use neo Animate to display the route as an animated path so visitors can see at a glance how to get there. To make sure search engines index the graphic optimally, you name it search-engine-friendly with neo Rename and add the location to the filename. The neo Optimize plugin automatically compresses and adjusts the image size for different devices. At the same time neo Lazy ensures the image is only loaded when it is actually needed, saving load time and improving the user experience. If the client’s location changes, you can quickly and losslessly replace the graphic using neo Replace-all links remain intact. With neo Library you always keep track of your media files and see exactly which images are used in which posts-ideal for cleaning up and organizing.
