His name is Archie, and he is my best boy.

Archie has warm eyes, fluffy golden fur, and a face that always looks slightly guilty, even when he has done nothing wrong. I like that about him because it makes him feel so real. He is not perfect or polished. He is muddy paws, wet fur, and grass stuck to his chest after every walk.

My favorite thing about Archie is how he walks a few steps ahead, then turns around like he suddenly remembered I exist. He does it every time we are outside, especially near the water. He also has a serious talent for finding the biggest stick on the path and acting offended when I do not let him bring it home.

He gets excited about puddles, sniffs the same patch of grass for way too long, and always shakes himself dry a little too close to me. That is exactly why I like him so much. Archie makes walks feel chaotic, funny, and somehow better than they were supposed to be.

To me, Archie is not just a sweet dog. He is the dog who makes my shoes dirty, steals the best spot on the couch, and still makes me happy the second he looks at me.

I have Archie because I wanted a dog to spend time with and take outside every day. He gives me a reason to go on walks, even when the weather is bad or I am not really motivated. I like having him around because he is funny, loyal, and makes normal days more enjoyable.
